ABC Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Inc. was founded in 1950 and incorporated in 1968.
Carmen Ligoci came to work for ABC in 1969 after serving 4 years in the Navy, working 2 years at Central New York Refrigeration, and 1 year at Acme Markets Maintenance Department. He purchased ABC in 1976 and out concentration intensified on commercial and supermarket refrigeration installations and service. For several years, he was the only employee. He began to slowly hire and personally train men to help him. Most of these men came with no formal education in this field. By 1982, with nearly 30 people on their staff, ABC had outgrown their small office and moved to their Factory Avenue location which they again outgrew in November of 2005. ABC purchased a 70,000 square foot building on Joy Road where ABC’s current operation is with a staff of over 160 employees
In 2013 Carmen Ligoci sold ABC to his son Joseph C. Ligoci, who has been with the company since 1984. Joe spent 20+ years in the field learning all aspects of the trade before moving into the office. Now with the expertise and knowledge that was gained through years of hard work and dedication Joe has begun training the next generation of technicians. Joe’s priority is to maintain the level of quality and precision that has been instilled throughout the company since its foundation.
